FARMINGTON, NEW YORK – February 4, 2026 – Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain, has named Leonard’s Express CEO Kyle Johnson a Rock Star of the Supply Chain. The annual award celebrates influential leaders in the industry whose achievements, hard work, and vision are shaping the global cold food supply chain. This is the second consecutive year that Johnson has been named a Rock Star of the Supply Chain and the fourth consecutive year that a Leonard’s Express executive has earned this recognition.
“From cargo fraud and natural disasters to ever-changing food safety regulations and increases in tariffs and cost of goods, many of today’s supply chain leaders are faced with a number of challenges,” said Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “But it’s their resilience, hard work, innovation and attention to quality, sustainability and food safety that separates these rock stars from everyone else.”
Under Johnson’s leadership, Leonard’s Express has solidified its leadership position in cold chain management thanks to a series of strategic moves and certifications. The company qualified its warehouse in Shortsville, New York (built in 2022) as an AIB-certified food-grade facility, which means it has been inspected and approved by the American Institute of Baking (AIB International) and meets strict food safety and hygiene standards. An AIB-certified, food-grade warehouse reassures food manufacturers, retailers, and consumers that stored products are handled safely, with minimal risks of contamination, spoilage, and regulatory violations.
The Leonard’s Express Delaware facility is also certified and fully equipped to store organic produce with care and precision. 82% of Americans have organic products in their homes — it’s a $52 billion industry. For a product to truly be considered organic, the entire process, including all logistical steps, must adhere to specific guidelines. This certification reinforces the Leonard’s Express commitment to deliver the highest standards in food safety, sustainability, and compliance, “from farm to fork.”
“Leonard’s Express doesn’t just provide transportation and warehouse space — we provide solutions,” said Johnson. “As food shippers, grocers, and distributors look for ways to reduce loss, save money, and ensure freshness, we continue to improve our offerings to stay at the leading edge of the food supply chain.”
Over the past 12 months, Leonard’s Express has won numerous awards, including:
- Top 3PL & Cold Storage Provider – Food Logistics
- Top Food Chain Provider – Food Shippers of America
- Best Fleets to Drive For – Carriers Edge
- Top 100 Truckers – Inbound Logistics
- Top Workplace for Women in Transportation – Women In Trucking Association
Also in 2025, Wreaths Across America recognized Leonard’s Express as an “Honor Fleet” member, a special recognition for transportation partners with more than 10 years of service honoring America’s fallen heroes.
“Our team brings so much experience and skill to their work, I’m proud of everything they do to make sure we deliver on our promise to shippers and consumers every day,” said Johnson. “If you ask me, everyone at Leonard’s Express is a rock star.”
