EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN, SEPTEMBER 7, 2022 – Leonard’s Express – a leading transportation services provider offering refrigerated trucking, dry van, warehousing and freight brokerage services – has won two prestigious awards at the Big Rig Truck Show in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The 12th annual event is one of the premier truck shows of its kind in the Midwest.
Leonard’s earned first place in the People’s Choice Award and second place in the Drivers’ Choice Award for its U.S. Marine Corps designed truck, which was unveiled earlier this year as part of the carrier’s patriotic “wrapped truck” program. The veteran-friendly company is vinyl wrapping a new truck with a military-themed design for each of its five terminals: Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Caldwell, Idaho; Farmington, New York; New Castle, Delaware; and Taylorsville, North Carolina. The trucks are assigned to drivers who served in the United States Military. Mike Holder, who drives the award-winning U.S. Marine Corps truck for Leonard’s Express, was on hand to receive the award.
At this year’s Big Rig Truck Show, 72 trucks were eligible to win awards across three categories: Drivers’ Choice, People’s Choice, and Kids’ Choice. Roughly 1,200 attendees voted. Based on ballots cast, the Leonard’s Express truck was clearly a fan favorite.
The Big Rig Truck Show features semi drag racing, a trade show, a parade, food vendors, and the AFTERSHOCK Jet Fire Truck which reaches speeds greater than 400 MPH (a world record for fire trucks) and shoots huge flames out of three after burning jet engines. “When I first went to this event I was just enamored by the cool trucks,” said Leonard’s Express Director of Recruiting Ed Fosdick. “I’m talking from the 50s, 60s, 70s, just the plethora of the time spent that these drivers put into detailing these trucks and bringing them back to life is just something you’ve got to see.”
